Burnt peach ice cream, looks dreamy! Love the sink top. Coincidentially, I was looking at new sink cabinets today. Wish you were here, I would hire you in a minute. I put new pix's on flickr from my trip to Baltimore, good trip this time...no beings from the here after. But fire beer boy was great!

Latest Project

Here's a sink top I made for my friend deb. She got the legs and basin from an architectural salvage place. The top is made from 1x2 strips glued and nailed to plywood. The skirting around the edge uses butt joints, for what Deb feels is a "cottage-y look". She's going to white wash it, I think, and there is a drawer front that needs to go on yet. I liked it so much I'm going to make a table for my kitchen in the same style, but I'll miter the corners since I live in an apartment and not a cottage.

Maine news
Hey everybody, Kate and I are spending our first weekend in our new apartment. It doesn't quite feel like home, since all of our stuff, and ou dogs, are still in NJ. I'll attach some pictures of the place later.

I'm Here!
Love all the pictures. Great job Cindy, Thanks for setting this up. I replaced my lost camera so I will be able to put some pictures on too. Maybe some more ghosts!
Zellers Deluxe Bicycles
Here's the bikes I've made for myself. The first is my fixed gear (thought I'd start simple), which has one speed and you can't coast. It's a lot of fun to ride, good for the legs and will test your resolve on the San Francisco hills. I use it mostly for commuting, errands and social cruises. The second is my road bike, which is set up with gears and everything else you need to get out and eat up some miles. Next are a few shots of the fixed gear going together in the shop. I'm not very good about taking pictures while I'm working, but I'm starting a cyclocross frame on Wednesday, I'm going to try to document the process a little better.

From the newswire:
This is me in a duathlon... getting ready to do it... a mile run a nine mile bike then another three mile run... pretty easy. I did really well for my first one! I am in another one August 26th and then on Oct 14th I will do a mini triathlon - 1/4 mile swim, 14 mile bike, 3 mile run... wish me luck. xo alyssa

The First Post
Welcome to the Maxwell Family Blog. I asked Jer what we should call it, and we decided this was somewhat better than the McZellerfreasreddenadamses'. But he came up with the New Jersey part. Love it.
The idea of this whole thing is to keep in touch. So to kick things off here's a link to my Flickr page, through which you can see a lot of our doings and goings-on here in San Francisco.
